The President of Maryam Abacha American University of Niger, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, has congratulated Alhaji Ahmed Ali Zaki on his appointment as the 24th Sultan of Katsinan Maradi in Niger Republic.
The five Kingmakers in the Sultanate Council and the Government of Niger Republic on Saturday, 5th November 2022 announced Alhaji Ahmed Ali Zaki, who is the son of the late Emir as the 24th Sultan of Maradi.
The congratulatory message was contained in a statement personally signed by Prof. Gwarzo and issued to newsmen in Kano on Saturday.
Prof. Gwarzo, who is the Founder and Chairman Governing Council of Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria,
described the appointment of Ahmed Ali Zaki as the new Sultan of Katsinan Maradi as a well deserved appointment.
"On behalf of my family and Maryam Abacha American University of Niger (MAAUN), I wish to extend our congratulatory message to the new Sultan of Katsinan Maradi, Alhaji Ahmed Ali Zaki," Prof. Gwarzo said in the statement.
Prof. Gwarzo, who is also the President of the Association of African Private Universities (AAPU) used the occasion to congratulate the Government and entire people of Niger on the appointment of the new Sultan of Maradi.
He prayed to Almighty Allah to guide and give the new monarch the wisdom to bring the needed development and progress to the Emirate.
The new Sultan of Katsinan Maradi, Ahmed Ali Zaki was born in 1969 at Maradi. He attended school in Niger and France up to university level where he read economics after which he worked in the bank.
He once Head the National Agricultural Supply Agency Caima before he ventured into business.
The new Sultan of Katsinan Maradi has one wife and four children. He succeeded his father, Maremawa Ali Zaki who ruled Katsinan Maradi from 1st October 2005 to 24th June 2021.
Before his appointment as the new Sultan of Katsinan Maradi, Ahmed Ali Zaki was the Dan Baskore, a position which his late father appointed him.
