Prof. Gwarzo commiserates with famous singer, Davido over son's death


The President of Maryam Abacha American University of Niger, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, has expressed his deepest condolences to the popular Singer, Davido over the death of his first son, Ifeanyi.

The three-year-old Ifeanyi was said to have drowned in a swimming pool at the singer’s residence in the Banana Island area of Lagos.

The condolence message was contained in a statement personally signed by Prof. Gwarzo and issued to newsmen in Kano on Thursday.

Prof. Gwarzo, who is also the Founder and Chairman Governing Council of Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria, described the death of Ifeanyi as shocking considering the circumstances in which the boy died.

“On behalf of my family, MAAUN Conglomerate, I wish to express our deepest condolences to Davido and his wife over the sudden death of their first son, Ifeanyi," Prof. Gwarzo said in the condolence message.

Prof. Gwarzo who doubles as President of Association of African Private Universities (AAPU) also used the opportunity to condole with the fans and associates of the singer and prayed to God to grant the deceased family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
