MAAUN Niger mourns ex-student who died in ghastly motor accident



The Management of Maryam Abacha American University of Niger (MAAUN), Maradi, has condoled with the parents of former student of the University, Fatima Abubakar Dahiru, who died on Monday, 7th November 2022, following a ghastly motor accident.

The deceased, who graduated from the University in 2018, was traveling from Gombe to Kano where she was redeployed for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

The condolence message was contained in a statement by the President of MAAUN Niger, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo and  made available to newsmen in Kano on Monday.

According to the statement, late Fatima Abubakar Dahiru was traveling from Gombe to Kano when the unfortunate incident happened.

The Management of MAAUN described the death of Fatima Abubakar Dahiru as a huge loss not only to her parents and relatives, but to the entire staff and students of her alma mater.

Prof. Abubakar Gwarzo, who is also the Founder and Chairman, Governing Council of MAAUN Nigeria, described late Fatima Abubakar Dahiru as a disciplined student who had respect for her teachers and other people she came across with.

"On behalf of the Management of Maryam Abacha American University of Niger, I wish to extend our condolences to the parents, relatives and friends of the deceased.

"The Management of the university wishes to also commiserate with the NYSC and government of Kano State over the demise of Fatima Abubakar Dahiru. May the Almighty Allah forgive all her shortcomings," Prof. Gwarzo said.

He also prayed to Almighty Allah to grant the deceased Aljannah Firdaus and her parents the courage to bear the great loss.

The deceased who hailed from Sharada quarters in Kano Municipal Local Government Area, had since been buried in accordance with the Islamic rites.
