Prof. Abubakar Gwarzo commiserates with MAAUN student over father's death


The Founder and Chairman Governing Council of Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN), Kano, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo has condoled with one of the university students, Yusuf Umar Tunau over the death of his father, Alhaji Musa Tunau.

The deceased died on Thursday, 18th August 2022, following a brief illness in Nguru, Yobe state.

The condolence message was contained in a statement personally signed by Prof. Gwarzo and made available to newsmen in Kano on Wednesday.

Prof. Gwarzo who is also the President of MAAUN Niger, described the death of Alhaji Musa Tunau as a great loss not only to his immediate family but to Yobe State and the country at large.

"On behalf of myself and Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria, Kano community, I wish to extend our deepest and heartfelt condolence to Yusuf Umar Tunau, a Mass Communication student of the university over the demise of his father, Alhaji Umar Musa Tunau," the statement said.

Similarly, Prof. Gwarzo who is President Association of African Private Universities commiserated with the Government and people of Yobe state over the death of Alhaji Umar Musa Tunau.

The deceased who was the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Rahama Air Services, was survived by two wives, 19 children and 26 grandchildren.

Prof. Gwarzo prayed to Almighty Allah to give the bereaved student and all members of his family the strength and courage to bear the great loss,

He also prayed to Almighty Allah to grant the deceased the highest level of Jannah (Jannatul Firdaus).

The deceased who left behind two wives,  19 children and 26 grandchildren, had since been buried in accordance with Islamic rites in his hometown Nguru, Yobe state.

May the Almighty Allah forgive all his shortcomings and grant him Aljanna Firdaus, ameen.
