Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN), Kano Federal Republic of Nigeria, on Tuesday, 23rd August 2022 signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Eudoxia Research University (EDU) New Castle, USA on academic and research cooperation.
Prof. (Dr.) Mohammad Israr signed the MoU on behalf of Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria MAAUN while Dr. Sukhwinder Singh signed on behalf of his University.
Speaking during the signing ceremony which was conducted virtually, the President of MAAUN, Kano, Prof. (Dr.) Mohammad Israr said the collaboration will promote Joint research, Training and capacity building between the two Universities.
He said the agreement is also aimed at exploring International Research and Innovation to facilitate the scope of the activities of both organizations.
According to him, other scopes of the collaboration include publication of Research and Faculty Development program that will cultivate and develop the collaboration.
Prof. Israr added that the areas of collaboration include activities or programs offered at either education from the subject experts, carry out joint research and continuing education programs; student exchanges, work-shops, seminars, conferences, journal, new letters, joint educational, cultural, and research activities, among others.
In his speech, the President of ERU, Prof. (Dr.) Rhituraja Saikia expressed happiness over the signing of the MoU which he said would go along way in promoting exchange of ideas among scholars and students.
He added that the collaboration would include joint digital conferences between the institutions which would hopefully yield remarkable output and pave way for many other partnerships in many areas of academic development.
Also speaking, the Vice President of ERU, Dr. Pratisha Saikia expressed the readiness of the university towards effective implementation of the MoU for the development of the two Universities.
She assured MAAUN that ERU would do its best to ensure that the International Executive program is implemented to the fullest while promising to support scholars and students to make the MoU result-oriented.
While commending MAAUN for signing the MoU, the Vice President of ERU expressed hope that MAAUN would collaborate more with her University for the benefit of both academics and students.
In his remarks, the Vice President of MAAUN, Dr. Habib Awais Abubakar noted that the partnership would open the door for the two institutions particularly in the areas of research for students and faculty development.
In addition, he said, the collaboration would pave way for extensive research in which quality research will be produced for the growth of the two universities pointing out that research is instrumental in the development of all institutions around the globe.
Other officials present at the signing of the MoU were Engr. Bashir Muhammad Garba, Head International Office Unit, MAAUN, Pro Vice Chancellor ERU, Prof. Dr. Catalina N. Mendoza, Prof. Dr. Rajesh Konnur, Dean ERU and Ruhul Amin General Manager, ERU.
