Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria, Nigeria signs MoU with Lovely Professional University, India on academic Linkages



Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria, (MAAUN) on Friday,12th August 2022 signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Lovely Professional University (LPU), India 

The MoU was signed by Prof. (Dr.) Mohammad Israr on behalf of MAAUN Nigeria while Dr. Monica Gulati, who is the Registrar, signed on behalf of her University.

Speaking shortly after the signing ceremony, the President of MAAUN Nigeria, Prof. (Dr.) Mohammad Israr said the two institutions have agreed to collaborate on Academic and Research activities.

He said under the agreement, the collaboration would also promote developing research projects jointly, Exchange of academic information, materials and facilities; Students Exchange; Faculty Exchange as well as Organizing / participation in Joint symposium, seminar, conferences, workshops.

Prof. Israr said other scopes of the MoU include Promoting cooperation in Doctoral (PhD) education in addition to providing the two universities the opportunity to jointly undertake research projects through sharing of research ideas among others,

The collaboration will also promote joint research conferences, visitations, and sabbaticals among others. Organizing/participation in Joint symposium, seminar, conferences, workshops are part of the partnership," Prof. Israr said.

In her remarks, the Associate Director, LPU India, Mrs Supriya Mathew said the signing of the MoU would encourage the University to have more collaborations with the MAAUN Nigeria and its sister institution in Niger Republic.

The official urged MAAUN to send its Students to India for Masters and PhD programs as soon as the collaboration becomes operational.

She congratulated the two institutions for agreeing to partner between them and expressed hope that the partnership would promote Research and Development.

In her remark, Senior Executive officer, LPU India, Tamanna Bawa expressed confidence that Collaborations is timely and would yield the desired results  
     
The signing of the MoU was attended by Engr. Bashir Mohammed Garba, Head International Office of MAAUN Nigeria and Rahul Chhabra, Senior officer International Affairs, LPU, India.
