The Management of Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria, (MAAUN), Kano, has honored some staff members of Maryam Abacha American University of Niger, Maradi for their outstanding performance towards uplifting the University to greater heights.
The ceremony was held on Wednesday, 10th August, 2022 at the President's Conference Hall, MAAUN Kano.
The celebrants include the Registrar of MAAUN Maradi, Dr. Shuaibu Tanko, the Examination Controller, Dr. Murtala Musa, Dr. Abubakar Sadiq Haruna and Abdullahi Ibrahim Audu.
Speaking during the event, Prof. Gwarzo
said the officers were honored for exhibiting a high sense of responsibility and expertise in carrying out their responsibilities in the University.
He stressed the need for workers of the university to imbibe the spirit of teamwork and love one another in order to move the University forward.
Prof. Gwarzo personally commended Dr. Tanko for putting his best to ensure smooth running of the administrative wheels of the University, while lauding him for his consistency in formulating the school calendar.
He also appreciated Dr. Murtala Musa for his track record in the transformation of the Examination Office to international standard as well as his singular stance against examination misconduct and related offences.
He, therefore, cautioned staff members against engaging in eyeservice, sycophancy and false allegation in the discharge of their duties, which according to him, are the root cause of problems in academia.
He reiterated the need for community empowerment networks in the North, where the less privileged could be supported educationally to make their wild dreams a reality.
While counselling MAAUN staff to be sincere and industrious in observing their duties, Prof. Gwarzo also implored them to always put the interest of MAAUN above any other interests.
