Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, Founder and Chairman Governing Council of Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN) has expressed his deepest condolence to the family and government of Niger Republic over the demise of Rakietou Hassane Mossi, who died on the 17th August, 2022 at the age 37.
Prof. Gwarzo who is also the President of Maryam Abacha American University of Niger, personally delivered his condolence message to her family in Niamey, Niger Republic and described the news of the death of late Rakietou as a "shocking and unforgettable incident."
This was contained in a condolence message signed by the MAAUN Founder and sent to the deceased family, Niger government, her colleagues, and friends.
In the message, Prof. Gwarzo wrote:
“On behalf of my family, MAAUN Conglomerate communities, I wish to express our deepest condolences to the family, the government, and the people of Niger Republic, Nigeria, and other humanitarian allies around the world over the sudden death of a kind-hearted and exemplary supportive friend, Rakietou Hassane Mossi.
She will be remembered as a humanitarian, change maker, and innovative strong young woman in humanitarian history due to her immense contribution in changing and improving the lives of poor and vulnerable people.
Her leadership was so sterling as she did not only influence the people and organizations she worked for, but developed and empowered friends, colleagues, and everyone that interacted with her in that capacity.
The strong ties of friendship between us have solidified to make us family. Her tireless sacrifices and inspiration to always work to build better access to education and empowerment for women and girls stand out.
Her daily inspirational posts on her status and social media on Islamic teachings of being kind, peaceful, and supportive to one another in addition her kindness in life to all; have been a key reflection by almost everyone who knows her after she passed away.
I have directed my foundation (Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo Foundation (AAG-Foundation) to innovate ways to continue to help in fulfilling her (Rakietou) touching lives, dreams and passion.
We will continue to remember, celebrate, and promote her good virtues and contributions to humanity in the African continent and beyond”.
The Founder attended the funeral of the Late Rakietou in Niamey, Niger Republic where he physically condoled with the family.
