Prof. Abubakar Gwarzo condoles with Oumou Sangare over her mother's death


The President of Maryam Abacha American University of Niger (MAAUN), Maradi, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo has commiserated with the famous Malian Singer, Oumou Sangare over the death of her mother, Aminata Diakite. 

Diakite died in Daoud Abougou, Commune V of the District of Bamako in Mali following a protracted illness and was buried on Monday, 8th August, 2022 in Madinadiassa, Yanfolila.

The condolence message was contained in a statement signed by Prof. Abubakar Gwarzo, and issued to newsmen in Kano on Thursday.

Prof Gwarzo who is also the Founder and Chairman Governing Council of MAAUN Nigeria, described the death of Aminata Diakite as a great loss not only to her immediate family but to the entire people of Mali and other African countries.

He also described the deceased as a committed and hardworking mother who became a market trader in order to fend for her four children.

"On behalf of the Management of Maryam Abacha American University of Niger, I wish to extend our condolences to Oumou Sangare, relatives, friends and fans of the famous musician.

"The Management of the university wishes to also condole with the government of Mali over the great loss.

Prof. Abubakar Gwarzo prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive the deceased and grant her Aljannah Firdaus and give Sangare the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
