The President of Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN), Kano, Prof. (Dr.) Mohammad Israr on Wednesday, 10th August 2022 paid a thank you visit to the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero after the Emir paid a familiarization visit to the university.
Prof. Israr was accompanied to the Emir's Palace by the Vice President Adminstration/Registrar MAAUN Niger, Dr Shu'aibu Tanko, Director Linkages and Collaboration MAAUN, Dr. Bala Muhammad Tukur and some other officials of the university.
Speaking during the visit, Prof. Israr expressed appreciation for the Emir's visit to MAAUN Kano and prayed to Almighty Allah to continue to give the Emir good health and wisdom to take Kano emirate to greater heights.
"On behalf of the Management, Founder and Chairman Governing Council of MAAUN, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, we wish to thank His Highness for the singular honour done to the university," he said.
Responding, the Emir of Kano who spoke through the Makaman Kano, Alhaji Abdullahi Sarki Ibrahim expressed happiness for the thank you visit.
He also expressed appreciation over the facilities he saw when he paid the familiarization visit to MAAUN Kano on Monday.
He said the Emirate had commended the Founder of the university, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo for establishing the university in Kano.
He, therefore, called on well-to-do individuals in the society to emulate Prof. Gwarzo by establishing similar university for the development of education in the state and the country at large.
