The Chairman of Elders Forum in Sabon Layin Kara, Gwarzo local government area of Kano state, Alhaji Halliru Muhammad Tukur, has commended President and Founder of Maryam Abacha American University (MAAUN), Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, for construction of 11 classrooms and 16 boreholes in the town.
The Chairman made the commendation on behalf of Sabon Layin Kara community while speaking with newsmen on Thursday at the premises of the school which was constructed and donated to the community by Prof. Abubakar Gwarzo.
"We are really in short of words to express our happiness and gratitude for this singular gesture, but we shall continue to pray to Almighty Allah to continue to protect and guide him in all his endeavours.
"We shall also continue to pray to Almighty Allah to continue to shower His blessings on Professor Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo and may He also grant his deceased father, Alhaji Garba Aljannah Firdaus," Alhaji Halliru Muhammad Tukur said.
He said the people of Sabon Layin Kara are proud of Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo being a son of the soil and are proud to associate with him because of his commitment to the development of the area. The chairman noted that the provision of the classrooms would go along way in promoting education in the area while the boreholes would alleviate the water shortage being experienced by the community.
"May the Almighty Allah continue to bless him to do more and may He also protect him from all evils acts. The two projects which were executed by Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo Foundation, would soon be commissioned and handed over to the Kano state government and the community respectively.
