The Federal University Dutsinma, FUDMA, in Katsina State has named its clinic after the Founder and President of the Maryam Abacha American University of Niger, MAAUN, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo.

The Vice-Chancellor of FUDMA, Prof. Armayau Hamisu-Bichi disclosed this on Monday during the official unveiling of the clinic located at the university’s permanent site in Dutsinma.

According to the V-C, the decision, which was unanimously approved by the FUDMA governing council, followed Mr Gwarzo’s tremendous support and magnanimity to the university.

“Besides the Federal and Katsina State governments, no one has ever supported or assisted the university like Professor Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo since its establishment.

“Professor Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo is a humble and God-fearing young man who uses his wealth for the social and economic development of mankind, and for the support of people with low income,” Mr Bichi said.

While commending the MAAUN President for his support to FUDMA, the V-C said the university has benefited from a number of assistance from Mr Gwarzo, including a luxurious bus worth millions of Naira for students’ shuttle in the University.

In addition, the V-C said, Mr Gwarzo had also provided the university with furniture, UNESCO books, and an ambulance to the university clinic.
