The Management of Federal Government College, Otobi, Otukpo in Benue State has commended President and Founder of Maryam Abacha American University (MAAUN), Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, for supporting the college to construct Volleyball and Basketball courts in the College.
The commendation was contained in a letter addressed to President of MAAUN signed by the Principal of the college, Mr. G.O. Amudipe, a copy of which was made available to newsmen in Kano on Sunday. "On behalf of the Management, Staff, Students and the host community of Otobi, I write to express my profound appreciation to you for your awesome donations for the construction of Volleyball and Basketball courts in the College.
"Your priceless donation has gone a long way to assisting the college in offering to the learners all round education, as well as serving a veritable pastime for the rest of the college community. "It actually goes beyond what words can describe and I feel very humbled by your altruism and generosity," the letter said.
The principal expressed hope that the one million Naira pledge made on behalf of the President on the day of the commissioning of the projects would be redeemed as the money will enable the college to purchase the necessary sporting materials. The principal assured that the college would make the best use of the facility to serve the purpose for which it is meant for.
